Joseph M. Gyomber, 87, passed away in his Fountain Hill, Lehigh County residence, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the loving husband of Barbara A. (Henry) Gyomber. They married on April 23, 1960.

Born in Evansville, PA, he was a son of the late Joseph A. and Anna (Shewchuk) Gyomber.

He was a 1956 graduate of Central Catholic High School.

Joseph was employed by AT&T, later Agere and Lucent for 32 years as a technician supervisor and later head of maintenance at Holy Guardian Angels. He was a movie enthusiast, especially Sci Fi, and audiophile. His rich collection of movies he would watch on his home theater. He was a “Jack of all trades” and mastered every one! There was nothing he couldn’t do. He was master gardener and was very proud of the gardens he had created surrounding their home of 57 years. His favorite time of year was Christmas and he decorated the entire house and yard accompanied by a 40’ star! He was the head coach of B.T.A.A, Phillies, which went undefeated for 15 years!

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: James, husband of Kathy Gyomber, Akron, PA, Judith A, Warwick, Fountain Hill, PA, Maryann Pagerly, San Antonio, TX, and Annmarie, wife of David Greth, Punta Gorda, FL. He is also survived by his brother, Nicholas, husband of Geraldine Gyomber, Sinking Spring, and Johanna Hoffman, Reading; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He served honorably with the US Navy on the USS Blue from 1956-1959.
