Joseph J. Carnaggio

Joseph J. Carnaggio, 88, of Spring Township, died of natural causes January 14th at 8:24 pm in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where he had been since December 28th.

He was the husband of Clara F. (Marino) Carnaggio.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Olga (Rocchi) Carnaggio.

He was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.

Carnaggio was the owner of Marino's Food Market in Reading for over 25 years.

He was later employed as a salesman in the sporting goods department at Boscov's West for 15 years before retiring in 1993.

Carnaggio was an Army Veteran of WWII.

He is survived by Clara and their daughter, Donna M. (Carnaggio) Allen of Fleetwood.

Other survivors include a sister, Theresa (Carnaggio) Reevis of Baltimore, Maryland, two grandchildren and one great grandson.

Prayer Services will be held Thursday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Viewing one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. Contributions may be made to Berks Visiting Nurse Hospice Association, 1170 Berkshire Blvd., Wyomissing, Pa 19610.
