Joseph R. Hydock, Sr., 73, of Wernersville, died January 3, 2009.

He was the loving husband of Ann M. (Pingar) Hydock. They were married for 47 years.

Born in Jeddo, Luzerne County, he was a son of the late, Michael and Anna (Tucker) Hydock.

He was a graduate of Hazle Twp. High School in 1952 and of Seton Hall University in 1967 earning a degree in Business Administration.

Mr. Hydock was a veteran of the U.S. Army being honorably discharged in 1963.

He was a human resource specialist for Western Electric for 34 years retiring from AT&T in 1989.

Joe was a member of St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.

He was a past secretary of the Wernersville Lions Club. Joe and his wife enjoyed traveling especially to Disney World. He also enjoyed Jazz music and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two children, Joseph R., husband of Deanna Hydock, Leola; and Lisa, wife of Christopher Hyer, Birdsboro. There are two brothers, Edward and Michael Hydock, both of Jeddo. Five grandchildren, Joseph Hydock, Nicholas Hydock, Anthony Hydock, Delaney Hyer and Declan Hyer also survive him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church. Burial will be in private in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the church. Contributions may be made to, St. Ignatius Church Memorial Fund, 2810 St. Albans Drive, Sinking Spring, PA 19608 or to the American Heart Associaton, 25 Stevens Avenue, West Lawn, PA 19609 in Mr. Hydock's name.
