Joseph J. Hudak, Jr., 81, passed away on March 19, 2023, in his Birdsboro residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was the loving husband of Judith A. (Anderson) Hudak. They were married on September 16, 1967.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Joseph, Sr. and Mary (Urban) Hudak.
Joseph was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. He was a radio man in the US Navy serving on the USS Mullinix and the USS Antietam.
A manipulator and press operator for Carpenter for over 30 years, he retired in 2000.
Joseph loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Other interests included: woodworking, polkas, bowling, beer, and golf.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children: Lisa (Justin) Loose, Debra (William) McDonough, and Steven (Rhonda) Hudak; grandchildren: Joey, Kaylin, Shane, Alyssa, Ema, and Zoe; and one brother, David Hudak. Many loving nieces and nephews also survive him.
He was predeceased by one sister, MaryAnn Caccese.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 24, 2023, at 12 p.m. at St. Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Church, Reading, with entombment to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Animal Rescue League or the American Heart Association in Joseph's memory. Condolences may be expressed at www.kuhnfunerahomes.com.
