Joseph "Jody" I. Howe, 76, of 2136 Perkiomen Avenue, Mount Penn, died Friday May 24th at 5:00 p.m. in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading, where he had been since April 25th.
He was the husband of Rosanne M. (Balsbaugh) Howe.
Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Joseph Howe and Dorothy (Bleiler) Howe Paolino.
He was a Navy Veteran of WWII.
Howe was employed first as a roofer/supervisor for 25 years at Berklan Roofing, West Reading. He was last employed 12 years for Warko Roofing, Reading until his retirement.
Howe was a member of the Roofers Union, Local 30 of Philadelphia.
He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Mount Penn.
Howe is survived by a daughter; Cathy Jo (Howe) wife of David A. Godek of Exeter Township, and a son; Stanford Howe of Bernville.
Other surviviors include two brothers; Walter widower of Esther Howe of Shillington, Anthony husband of Phillis Paolino of Muhlenberg Park, and two sisters; Marion (Howe) wife of Andrew Bem of Shillington and Nina (Howe) wife of Sonny Wade of Kenhorst.
There is also four grandchildren; John Howe, Tiffany, Jessica and Ashley Godek.
Services will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
