Joseph Harvilicz

Joseph Harvilicz, 70, of Muhlenberg Township, died January 11, 2007 in St. Joseph Medical Center.

He was the husband of Sophia (Gawel) Harvilicz, whom he married July 7, 1962.

Born on October 3, 1936 in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Michael and Helen (Mundy) Harvilicz.

He was a 1954 graduate of Blythe Township High School.

Joseph was employed 35 years with Dana Corporation, Reading, retiring as a welder in 1994.

He was an Marine Corp. Veteran.

Joseph was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.

He is also survived by a daughter, Jo Ann Marie (Harvilicz) wife of Brian Peters of Alsace Township.

Other survivors include two brothers, Charles Harvilicz of Baltimore, MD and Andrew Harvilicz of Pottsville and two sisters, Helen (Harvilicz) Busta of Middleport, Schuylkill Co., and Nancy (Harvilicz) Jeffrey of Massachusetts.

There are also two grandchildren, Eric J. Peters and Alicia Peters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 am in Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park, with the Rev. Michael Mullins celebrating. Viewings will be Sunday 6:30 - 8:00 pm and Monday 9:00 - 9:30 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, 3300 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale.
