Joseph Daniel Gartner

Joseph Daniel Gartner III, 80, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at St. Peter's Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. He was the loving husband of Patricia A. (Coyle) Gartner, with whom he shared 20 years of marriage.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph D. Gartner, Jr. and Lillian (Hinck) Gartner. A proud veteran, Joseph served as an airman in the US Air Force during the Viet Nam War. After the military, he worked as a pilot, flight instructor and aircraft mechanic for the Kutztown Airport and flew pipeline for BP Oil. He was a member of the Quiet Birdmen - Reading Hangar.

Left to cherish his memory are wife, Patricia; sons, David Gartner of Hamburg, PA and Joseph D. Gartner IV, of Manheim; and six grandchildren.

A viewing will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA 19611. Burial with military honors will take place on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 11:30 am at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Indiantown Gap Rd. Annville, Pennsylvania 17003.
