Joseph J. Frederick

Joseph J. Frederick Jr., 70, of Mountain View Road, Cumru Township, was pronounced dead on arrival June 30 at 9:52 a.m. in Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Patricia R. (Nagle) Mast Frederick. His first wife, Josephine A. (Auchter) Frederick, died in January 1980

Born in Reading, he was a son of Teresa E. (Walter) Frederick, Exeter Township, and the late Joseph J. Frederick Sr.

Frederick was employed for 46 years by Gilbert Associates before retiring as a structural drafting supervisor in 1994.

He was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.

Frederick was a 1949 graduate of Central Catholic High School.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Frederick is also survived by a son, Michael J., Reading, and three daughters: Mary Jo (Frederick) Auman, Exeter Township; Elizabeth A. (Frederick) Kramer, Mohnton; and Susan M. (Frederick) Englert, Schuylkill Haven, Schuylkill County.

Other survivors include two stepsons, Robert J. Mast, Muhlenberg Township, and Michael E. Mast, Las Vegas.

Also surviving are a sister, Margaret L. (Frederick) Golden, Shillington, and 20 grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. John Church. Viewing Tuesday night 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
