Joseph E. Moise, Jr.

Joseph E. Moise, Jr., 73, passed away on September 30, 2026, at his Bernville residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Joseph was the devoted husband of Frances “Fran” Maria (Paradiso) Moise. Together, they shared nearly 23 years of marriage, a milestone they would have celebrated this November.

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Joseph was the son of the late Joseph E. Moise, Sr., and Rita A. (Bohrer) Moise. He was a graduate of Reading High School and later attended Lincoln Technical Institute, where he studied Electrical Engineering.

A hardworking and dedicated professional, Joseph owned and managed J.M. Contracting LLC for more than 40 years. His commitment to his craft, strong work ethic, and dedication to those he served earned him the respect and gratitude of clients and peers throughout his career. During his tenure, Joseph spent more than 30 years supporting the Berks County Housing Authority, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship and service that spanned decades.

Joseph had an eye for beauty and a natural ability to see the potential in things. It was this vision that led him to the property he and Fran would come to call home, where, with his own two hands, he transformed a rustic farmhouse into the home of their dreams. His craftsmanship could be seen throughout the home in its many upgraded appointments and in the gorgeous in-law suite he created. The property became a special reflection of Joseph’s talent and vision, and it was from there that he ran his business.

Outside of his work, Joseph embraced life and the things that brought him happiness. His passion for racquetball and baseball was evident whenever he stepped onto the court or the field, while football season found him enthusiastically cheering for his beloved Philadelphia Eagles.

Some of Joseph’s most treasured experiences were those he shared with Fran. The two had a mutual love of travel and cherished the opportunity to experience new places together. Among their favorite memories were the pristine white beaches of the Caribbean, the tranquility and beauty of Sedona, Arizona, the quaint charm of Cape May, and the many enjoyable moments they spent together in the Poconos.

Joseph’s love extended beyond his interests and travels to the family who meant so much to him. In addition to his wife, Fran, he is survived by his brother Dean Moise, two sons, Joseph Moise, III, husband of Stacy Moise, and James Ferlazzo, husband of Jennifer Ferlazzo; and his three grandchildren, Kayla Mohn, Amber Clark, and Trever Moise.

Joseph also leaves behind his beloved yellow Labrador, Sadie, and his rescue cat, Izabella, whom he saved from abandonment. His love for his animals was yet another reflection of the care and compassion he carried throughout his life.

Joseph will be remembered for a life built around family, hard work, cherished experiences, and the people and animals he loved. From the career he devoted more than four decades to building, to the home he created with his own hands, to the places he and Fran explored together, and the simple joys of sports, family, and home, Joseph leaves behind memories that will remain with those who knew and loved him.

At Joseph’s request, services will be private. Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
