Joseph E. Cannon, 69, passed away January 8, 2015, in his Spring Township residence.

He was the husband of Denice F. Cannon.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late James and Bernice (Wallace) Cannon.

He was a graduate of Nova Southeastern University where he received a PhD in Computer Science. Joseph also earned his master's degree at Johns Hopkins University and his bachelor's degree at LaSalle University.

Joseph was employed as a professor of computer science for Harrisburg University of Science and Technology.

He was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Ryan F. Cannon, Cumru Township and Evan F. Cannon, Spring Township.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Sunday at 7 p.m. in St. John Baptist de la Salle R.C. Church, 420 Holland Street, Shillington, PA 19607. Burial will be private. Friends may call Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the church. Contributions may be made to LaSalle Academy, 440 Holland Street, Shillington, PA 19607 or charity of your choice. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
