Joseph C. Burkart

Joseph C. Burkart, 87, formerly of Reading, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023. Born in Reading to the late J. George and Beatrice C. (Kortenhorn) Burkart, Joseph served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Joseph was a devout member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. He retired from Carpenter Tech.

He is survived by his sister, Joan, and by extended family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be offered to the Sacred Heart Memorial Fund.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 27, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 740 Cherry St, West Reading, PA 19611, with committal to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.
