Joseph W. Arbegast

Joseph W. Arbegast, 67, passed away December 3, 2015, in his Schuylkill Haven residence.

Born in Lancaster, he was a son of Louise (Venturin) Arbegast, Schuylkill Haven, and the late Joseph Arbegast.

He was a 1966 Wilson High School graduate and received a bachelor's degree in journalism from Penn State University.

Joseph was a US Marines Corp veteran serving in the Vietnam War; he was a Purple Heart recipient.

Joseph loved sports and card games. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council number 8726 and Past Faithful Navigator of Pius XI Assembly 4th Degree.

In addition to his mother, Joseph is survived by his siblings, Clyde, husband of Zulmira Arbegast, Schuylkill Haven; and Beverly, wife of Larry Moyer, Sinking Spring. A niece, Brittany Martin, and a nephew, Travis Arbegast, also survive him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 7, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Ignatius Loyola Church, 2810 St. Albans Drive, Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Burial will follow in Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the church. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
