Joseph A. Simon

Joseph Aloysius Simon, 92, of Spring Township, died May 8, 2010 in Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Mildred A. (White) Simon.

Born July 4, 1917 in Oley, he was a son of the late Mathias and Magdalena (Schneider) Simon.

Joseph was a graduate of Wilson High School.

He was employed as a machinist with Textile Machine Works for 45 years, retiring in 1979.

Joseph served in the U.S. Navy as a radio operator in the South Pacific.

Surviving are two children: J. Matthew Simon of Pittsburgh and Michele J. Simon of West Lawn.

Other survivors include two grandchildren.

Joseph was predeceased by a sister, Helen Leininger.

Burial will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Lebanon County. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
