Josefa Santiago Olmeda

Josefa Santiago Olmeda, 75, of Reading, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 27, 2022. Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, to the late Casimiro Santiago and Heraclia Olmeda, Josefa was a loving mother and grandmother, and her steadfast presence will be greatly missed.

As a mother of three children, she set a strong example to her family by returning to school as an adult and graduating with her high school diploma just before her 40th birthday. Her family was always her highest priority, and she always had family on her mind, whether it was her brother, her sisters, her children, or her grandchildren.

Josefa was a woman of great faith. She was a member of Emmanuel 7th Day Adventist Church of Reading.

Left to treasure Josefa's memory are her children, Nilda L. Alicea, with whom she resided, and Jose A. Alicea, husband of Mariela, of Reading; her grandchildren, Antonio L. Alicea, Noel A. Alicea, and Heriberto M. Alicea, all of Reading; and her great grandchildren, Jadiel A. Alicea and Jayvien N. Alicea. Josefa is also survived by her sisters, Margarita Fuentes and Aurora Santiago Olmeda. Josefa was predeceased by her son, Heriberto Alicea, and her three siblings.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 4, 2022, at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc, 5153 Kutztown Rd, Temple, PA 19560, with entombment to follow at Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
