Jose Matos

José Matos, 59, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Reading Hospital and Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Lourdes Mora De Matos, with whom he shared 35 years of marriage.

Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, José was the youngest of eleven children of the late Tomás and Matilde Reina (Batista) Matos. A hard worker and selfless provider, he was employed by Cambridge-Lee Industries for 10 years. He dedicated himself to staying healthy and fit, working out regularly, and enjoyed customizing his cars, sharing drinks with his friends and nephews, and swinging in the hammock in his backyard.

José is survived by his wife, Lourdes Matos; son, Odalis Matos; and daughters, Elizabeth Matos and Madelyn Matos, sisters: Elmita Matos Meléndez, Elmia Matos, Ulpicia Matos Perez, and Eudalia Matos Tapia; and many beloved friends and family. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Benirda Matos, Lorencia Matos, Fidencia Matos, Eleuterio Matos, Rolando Matos, and Tomás Urides Matos.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 10:00 am in Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 5153 Kutztown Road ,Temple, PA 19560. The family will receive friends and relatives from 8:30 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Charles Evans Cemetery in Reading.
