Jordan D. Straub

Jordan D. Straub, Sr., 77, of West Reading, passed away September 29, 2008 in his residence.

He was the husband of Jacqueline G. (Schearer) Straub whom he was married for 57 years.

Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late Melvin Sr. and Pauline (Weary) Straub.

He was a 1949 graduate of West Reading High School.

Jordan was employed for 25 years by Burkey Construction, Reading as a cement mason man.

He was a member of Maple Grove Ministries.

For 45 years the Cement Masons local #105.

Jordan was a veteran who served in the United States Navy Reserves.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, J. Douglass Straub, Mohnton; two daughters, Judith A., wife of Christopher Johnson, Bear, Del, and Loretta L. Suliveres, fiancé of Samuel Alicea, both of West Reading.

Other survivors include two brothers, Donald Straub, Mt. Joy, and Gerald Straub, Leesport.

There are also three grandchildren, Jocelynn Rosell; Jesse Suliveres; Kiana Clifton, and a great-granddaughter, Lauren Rosell survives him.

Jordon is predeceased by a son, David B. Straub on September 23, 1991.

Graveside services will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in Forest Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, Contributions may be made to Maple Grove Ministries, 816 Kurtz Mill Rd., Mohnton, PA 19540.
