Jonathan Fox Rightmyer

Jonathan “Jon” Fox Rightmyer, of Mohrsville, Pennsylvania, died on October 5, 2026, at the age of 77 in Paris, France. Jon was a loving husband, stepfather, grandfather, brother and friend.

Born March 12, 1949, in Kingston, New York to Richard and Evelyn Ball, he grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and graduated from Council Rock High School, later earning a B.A. from Temple University, a M.S. at Rutger’s University and a PhD from the University of Pittsburgh.

Jon married Cynthia Vincent on May 26, 1991. He spent 30 years as a psychologist following his passion to help others, retiring in 2017.

Jon’s heart belonged to the natural world. He found joy in trees, wood, forests, and the quiet beauty of nature. He loved working with his hands and creating new things. He loved gardening, building furniture, running, reading, traveling, supporting democracy and constantly learning.

He treasured time spent with family and friends. Everybody loved Jon, it was so easy, because of his intelligent and funny nature.

He is survived by his wife Cynthia, his stepdaughter Vanessa, two grandchildren, and his brothers Peter and Randy. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Richard and sister Susan.

To me, he was more than a husband. He was my best friend, my confidant, my greatest supporter, and my partner in life's journey. His wisdom, humor, compassion, and steadfast love filled my days with meaning and joy. He will always be my “digger boy” who helped me create beautiful gardens for the bees, butterflies, birds and bugs!

In lieu of a service and flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made in the form of contributions to nature organizations or by planting a tree.

Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
