John Wunsch Jr.

John William Wunsch Jr., 92, of Muhlenberg Township, died October 22, 2014 in Berks Heim, Bern Township.

He was the husband of Elizabeth Jane (Huyett) Wunsch, who died March 10, 2011.

Born July 3, 1922 in Reading, he was a son of the late John William Sr. and Beulah Bessie (Otto) Wunsch.

John was a factory worker with Continental Can, Reading, for over 35 years, retiring in 1977.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, where he flew as a crewman on a B-29 bomber.

John enjoyed bowling and loved spending time with his family, including his extended family of many nieces and nephews.

Surviving is his daughter, Margaret E. "Peggy," wife of James L. Spinka of Muhlenberg Township.

He is also survived by his sister, Betty Cardinal of Stony Creek. There are two grandchildren, Mark J. Spinka and Lisa A. Plavcin; five great-grandchildren: Emily, Lindsey, Amani, Leah and Nathan; and a great-great-grandson, Carter. John was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Caernarvon Cemetery.
