John W. Zitrick

John W. Zitrick

John William Zitrick, Sr., 94, formerly of East Stroudsburg, died May 5, 2007 at 6:40 pm in the Topton Lutheran Home, where he had been a resident since July 2003.

He was the husband of G. Frances (Thompson) Zitrick a resident of the Topton Lutheran Home, whom he married April 4, 1959. John was predeceased by his first wife, H. Roberta (Thompson) Zitrick, who died in 1958.

Born January 11, 1913 in St. Albans, New York, he was a son of the late Henry W. and Josephine (Belsky) Zitrick.

John was employed five years building "Hellcats" during WWII with the Grumman Corporation, Bethpage, New York, Long Island.

He was later employed from 1946 until his retirement in 1972 as a payroll supervisor with Neptune Meter Company, Long Island City, New York.

John was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Church, Hyde Park.

He is also survived by a daughter, Marieann (Zitrick) wife of John Kesler of Kearneysville, West Virginia and three sons, Richard husband of Suzanne Zitrick of Sinking Spring; John W. Jr., husband of Barbara Zitrick of Alsace Township and James P. husband of Sharon Zitrick of Colleysville, Texas.

Other survivors include three step-sons, Robert husband of Susie Trinkle of Pasadena, Maryland; Peter widower of Ronnie Trinkle of St. Petersburg, Florida and Gerard husband of Christine Trinkle of Monroe, New York.

There are also 26 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00am in Holy Guardian Angels Church, Hyde Park. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 6:30 - 8:00 pm in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Entombment will be in Prospect Cemetery Company Mausoleum, East Stroudsburg. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Henry Health Care Center, Lutheran Topton Home, 1 South Home Ave., Topton, PA 19562.
