John W. Hartman

John W. Hartman, 73, of Bernville Road, Bern Township, died of natural causes Jan. 11 at 11:20 p.m. in Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Fayne G. (Graeff) Hartman.

Born in Muhlenberg Township, he was a son of the late Edward R. and Annie L. (Gruber) Hartman.

Hartman was a self-employed farmer in Bern Township most of his life.

He was a member of Alsace Lutheran Church, Hyde Park.

Hartman was a 1947 graduate of Muhlenberg Township High School.

He was a former member of the Bern Township Planning Commission and the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau.

Hartman is also survived by two sons, Craig J., Bern Township, and Dean E., Sinking Spring; and four daughters: Colleen H. (Hartman) Hauser, Sinking Spring; Andrea H. (Hartman) Williams, Muhlenberg Township; and BethAnn G. Hartman and Margaret H. (Hartman) Homan, both of Bern Township.

Other survivors include a brother, Edward G., Muhlenberg Township, and seven grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., Laureldale. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Tuckerton.
