John D. Thompson III, 78, of Reading passed away on March 27th in his residence.
He was the husband of Mildred I. (Filbert) Thompson.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late John D. and Elizabeth (Stamm) Thompson, Jr.
John is a graduate of the Reading High School.
He worked as a cabinet maker for Northeast Lumber, Reading, for 30 years until his retirement in 1994.
John was an Army Veteran of the Korean War where he received two bronze stars.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Jackie (Thompson) Moyer, and Betty (Thompson) Weiser, both of Reading.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
