John R. Tazik

John R. Tazik, 67, of Mohnton passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 10, 2017 at the Reading Hospital.

Born in Reading, he was the son of Andrew and Dolores (Erhmann) Tazik.

He was a graduate of Twin Valley High School.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and served honorably in Germany and Korea.

He began his career at Western Electric eventually retiring from Lucent Technologies with over 36 years of service.

John was a dedicated member of St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, serving in many capacities including usher and also "pit boss" during the annual Chicken BBQ fundraiser.

John was hard working and industrious (a jack of all trades), building his home from the ground up with the help of his father, Andy. He was very proud of this accomplishment and loved living and working on his land in the woods.

He enjoyed being outdoors; taking his sons, nieces, and nephews on many adventures to countless National Parks. He was also an excellent downhill skier; a skill he taught both his sons.

John's proudest accomplishment was being a father to Job and Jacob. He exemplified the meaning of being a father. He also loved being a strong presence in Lauren's growing up.

John is survived by two son's, Job H. Tazik, Penn Hills and Jacob H Tazik, Wilkes-Barre: five siblings, Michael Tazik, Andrea Tazik, Mary Golder, Christina More and Paul Tazik. He is also survived by his former wife, Barbara Tazik and close loved ones, Terri and Lauren Lampe.

He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Dolores Tazik and brother, Andrew Tazik.
