John T. Messer, 53, of 136 North 11th Street, Reading, died Thursday in his residence. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Thomas A. and Jeanne A. (Swayne) Messer.

Messer was a 1972 graduate of Reading High School.

Survivors include a brother, Steven J. Messer;and a sister Mary I. Messer; both from Reading.
