John T. Sweitzer

John T. Sweitzer, 87, died September 14, 2007 in his Reading residence.

He was the husband of Sebastiana "Ann" (Micali) Sweitzer.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Clarence and Erma (Thompson) Sweitzer.

He was the co-owner of Sweitzer's Grocery, Reading for 20 years retiring in 1978. He continued his career as a messenger for Meridian Bank until 1995.

John served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he received both the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.

He is also survived by two sons, John T., Jr., Harker Heights, TX and Dr. Thomas K. husband of Carmen L., Reading; and one daughter, Patricia (Sweitzer) DeAngelo, Temple. Seven grandchildren also survive him.

Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
