John C. Strausser

John C. Strausser, 64, of Hamburg, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022, in the care of St. Luke's Hospital Bethlehem Campus. He was the widower of Susan F. (Sweitzer), who passed away September 3, 2016.

Born in Reading to the late Paul L. and May Helen (Deisher) Strausser, John graduated from Schuylkill Valley High School '76. He worked for over 20 years with Quaker Maid Kitchen of Leesport as a cabinet assembler.

He recently was attending St. Luke's Church of Shoemakersville.

A lifetime member of the Leesport Fire Company, John served as a volunteer firefighter. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, model trains, and classic John Wayne films.

John is survived by his nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to his beloved wife, Susan, John was predeceased by his sister, Paulette Strausser.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in John's memory may be offered to the ALS Association, PO Box 37022 Boone, IA 50037.

Services for John will be held on Friday, November 25, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Burkey-Driscoll Funeral Home, 40 S 4th Street, Hamburg, PA, 19526 with committal to follow at St. John's (Gernant's) Cemetery of Leesport.
