John F. Stoudt, Jr.

John F. Stoudt, Jr., 66, died September 1, 2016, in his Lincoln Park residence.

Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late John F., Sr., and Dorothea S. (Kern) Stoudt.

John was a 1968 graduate of Wilson High School and Williamsport Area Community College.

He was employed by the Township of Spring as a Municipal worker specializing in the streets department and road work for nearly 40 years.

John enjoyed volunteer restoration of railroad artifacts; he was a natural historian with railroad trolleys and buses and enjoyed short-and long-distance train travel. He was a founding member of the Reading Company Technical and Historical Society.

From the 1970s -1980s he volunteered for the Lincoln Park Fire Company, firefighting and driving trucks.

Family was most important to John; he enjoyed spending time with them on holiday's; birthday's; and special occasions.

John was a member of Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, Mohnton.

John is survived by two siblings: Jeffrey R. Stoudt, Lincoln Park and Wendy D., wife of Steven J. Pauley, Spring Township; one niece, Melanie B. Weidner; one nephew, Timothy L. Weidner and one great-nephew, D. Rhys Orris.

Services will be Tuesday at 11:15 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be in Mohnsville Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 10 to 11:15 a.m. in the funeral home.
