John Eugene Snyder

John E. Snyder Sr., 78, of Reading, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022, in the care of Pottstown Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of 25 years to Sandra (Terwilliger).

Born in Coatesville to the late Eugene and Frances (Gardner) Snyder, John graduated from Twin Valley High School in 1962. He later graduated from Albright College with A Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics. John served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era as a helicopter pilot.

Possessing an adventurous spirit, John drove across the country on his motorcycle. He was a dog lover, especially of German Shepherds.

In addition to his loving wife, Sandy, John is survived by his children, Stephanie Snyder (Trevor Smith) of Geigertown and John "Jack" E. Snyder Jr. (Erika Snyder) of Miami, FL; his grandchildren Sloane and Mason; and his brother, Richard Snyder (Lynne Snyder) of Arlington, TX.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in John's memory may be made to the Freedom Center for Animal Life-Saving, 1801 N 11th St, Reading, PA 19604.

Services for John will be held privately at his family's discretion. He will be laid to rest in the family plot at Caernarvon Cemetery. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
