John A. Setticerze

John Anthony Setticerze, Jr., 74, died after privately battling cancer October 30, 2008 in his Wyomissing residence.

He was the husband of F. Gayle (McMahon) Setticerze, whom he married August 31, 1957.

Born December 22, 1933 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, he was the son of John A. and Nora (Capano) Setticerze.

He was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield, where he volunteered in the church and school.

John was a 1952 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, Elizabeth, New Jersey and a 1958 graduate of Albright College, where he played football and ran track.

He was employed as an engineer for 27 years with Lucent Technologies, Muhlenberg Township, retiring in 1989.

John was a Sgt. in the United States Army.

He enjoyed playing tennis and watching his grandchildren in all their activities.

John is also survived by two children: John A. Setticerze III of Jacksonville, FL and Lisa A., wife of Joseph M. Eways II of Lower Heidelberg Township.

He is also survived by a sister, Theresa N., widow of Robert McLain of Carrollton, Texas and four grandchildren: Byron Eways of Lower Heidelberg Twp., Mason Eways of Lower Heidelberg Twp, Andrea Eways of Lower Heidelberg Twp. and Shannon Setticerze of Edmond, OK.

John was predeceased by a brother, Louis Setticerze.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, November 26th at 10:00 am in St. Ignatius R.C. Church, 2810 St. Albans Drive, Sinking Spring, PA 19608, with Rev. Msgr. James A. Treston celebrating.
