John Clement Scolastico, Sr.

John C. Scolastico, Sr., 68, of Reading, passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 in Penn State Medical Group St. Joseph Medical Center.

His wife, Sandra J. (Bratton) Scolastico, died February 7, 2016. They were married on December 31, 1971.

Born in Mahanoy City, he was the son of the late Vincent J. and Emma (Salvador) Scolastico.

John was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Reading.

He worked at Rockwell International for 33 1/2 years, retiring in 1999.

John was the long time running President of the Thursday Night Fireman's Pool League. He was also a volunteer fireman for many years at Greenfields Fire Company.

He is survived by five children: Joel M. Scolastico, Exeter Twp.; Jill M. Scolastico, High Point, NC; John C. Jr., husband of Jennifer A. Scolastico, Sinking Spring; Jamie M. Scolastico, Sinking Spring.; Jennifer L., wife of Gregory L. Duffin, Cumru Twp. One brother; James E. Scolastico and three grandchildren: Ethan J., Nicholas C. and Isabelle J. Scolastico also survive him.

In addition to his wife, John was predeceased by his step-son, Christopher T. Rhein.

Services will be Thursday August 18, 2016 at 10 a.m. in Christ Lutheran Church, 1301 Luzerne Street, Reading, PA 19601. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Edward J.
