John "Jack" L. Schoennagel, 86, of Spring Township, died on February 1, 2016, at the Reading Hospital.
His wife, Roseann (Najarian) Schoennagel, died on February 24, 2013. They married in 1955.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Edward and Margaret (Brightbill) Schoennagel.
He was a 1947 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.
Jack was a Sargent in the U.S. Army, during the Korean Conflict.
He worked for Acme Markets as a butcher for over 30 years, retiring in 1991.
Jack was a member of: Berks Pistol Club, Shillington; and a life member of both the Mohnton Fish and Game Protective Association and the National Rifle Association.
He enjoyed guns, hunting and woodworking.
Jack is survived by two sons, Brian Schoennagel, West Lawn; and David, husband of Maria Schoennagel, Exeter; two siblings, Margaret Schoennagel; and Edward, husband of Edith Schoennagel, all of Wernersville.
He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Schoennagel.
