John J. Scherrer

John J. Scherrer, 64, of Exeter Township passed away May 1, 2017, in St. Joseph Hospital.

He was the loving husband of Barbara (Graupp) Scherrer.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late John C. and Caroline (Entzminger) Scherrer.

John was a 1972 graduate of Reading High School.

He was employed by Rohm and Haas as a powder processor for over 30 years.

John was a member of the Adamstown Rod and Gun Club and the Reading Scuba Team. He also enjoyed going to the farmers market every week with his wife for the past 25 years.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his one child, John B., husband of Leigh Anne Slaski, Wyomissing; two step-children, Andrew, husband of Mandy (Clouser) Alexander, Hershey; and Kourtney Alexander, Hershey. He is also survived by his sister, Janet, wife of Michael Satz, Whitfield, and nephew, Joseph, husband of Daina Wurster, Sinking Spring.

Graveside service will be held Friday, May 5, 2017, at 1:30 pm in Forest Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday, May 4, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, 5153 Kutztown Rd., Temple.
