John W. Savage

John W. Savage Sr., 84, of Sunset Road, West Reading, died March 6 at 6:11 p.m. in the emergency room at Reading Hospital.

His wife, Kathryn R. (Henning) Savage, died Dec. 25, 1983.

Born in Robesonia, he was a son of the late William and Ida Savage.

Savage was employed for 32 years as a press operator by Parish Structural Products Division of Dana Corp., retiring in 1978.

He was a graduate of Robesonia High School and the McCann School of Business, Reading.

Savage was a member of the Wyomissing United Church of Christ, Gouglersville.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are a son, Walter J., Tampa, Fla.; and a daughter, Janet R. (Savage) Miller, Sinking Spring.

Other survivors include two granddaughters and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Township.
