John Richard Leas

John R. Leas, 84, of Shillington, died Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at Wyomissing Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was the loving husband of Dorothy M. "Dolly" Leas.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Charles and Veronica (Wierzbicki) Leas.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

John was employed by Crompton and Knowles for many years retiring in 1998.

He was a devoted husband, always at the side of Dolly.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three children: Brian Leas, Boston, MA; Dennis, husband of Ruth Ann Guiles, Reading; and Linda, wife of Barry Shultz, Shillington. There is one brother, Raymond Leas, Ft. McCoy, FL. Six grandchildren: Stacey, David, Tiffanie, Rebecca, Kyle, and Lori; and six great-grandchildren: Kelsey, Kiah, Logan, Jaxson, Ethan and Taylor also survive him.

He was predeceased by four siblings: Charles Leas, Veronica Leas Drexel, Paul Leas, and Barbara Leas.

Services will be Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Shillington.
