John Q.S. Jones

John Quig Stirling Jones, 78, of Spring Township, died March 7, 2008, in Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he was a patient since February 7, 2008.

He was the husband of Clare Theresa (Pankok) Jones, whom he married April 18, 1953.

Born March 4, 1930 in Penns Grove, N.J. he was the son of the late William Clement Jones Sr. and Marion S. (Stirling) Jones.

John was a 1947 graduate of Penns Grove Regional High School, N.J.

He was the former owner of Associated Printers, Inc., Pennsville, N.J. for twenty years, retiring in 1995.

John served with the United States Navy during the Korean conflict.

He was a member of the Pennsville Rotary for 35 years where he served as past president, and was also a 32nd degree Free and Accepted Mason, Penns Grove Lodge #54.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Susan Lynn (Jones) wife of David L. Bailey of Wyomissing and Carol Anne Jones, of Spring Township.

Other survivors include four siblings, Robert B. of Pennsville, N.J.; J. Richard of Scottsville, Virginia; Eleanor (Jones) Adamson of Carney's Point, NJ; and Jerry G. (Jones) Broadbent of Spring Township.

He was predeceased by two siblings; William Clement Jones, Jr., and Catherine (Jones) Kerchner.

Three grandchildren also survive him; Jonathan L. Bailey, Alexandra K. Zamorski and Steven D. Zamorski.

Services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, with the Rev. Thomas Newton celebrating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spring Township.
