John Franklin Peffer

John Franklin Peffer, 86, passed away on July 31, 2025, at his Leesport home. He was the husband of Dorothy Irene (Williams) Peffer. They married on September 18, 1965 and shared 59 years together.

Born in Easton, he was the son of the late Russel Stanly Peffer, Sr. and Elsie Elizabeth (Maurer) Peffer. John graduated from Easton Area Highschool and Teterboro School of Aeronautics. He was employed as a Commercial Airline Mechanic for Allegheny Airlines and US Airways until retirement. John also served in the United States Air Force.

He was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his beloved sons and grandchildren. John shared his love for Philadelphia sports by volunteering countless hours coaching youth sports in the Leesport Athletic Association.

John is survived by his wife, Dorothy, two sons, John P. Peffer (Tamara) and Matthew J. Peffer (Jennie), grandchildren: Emily C. Peffer (Stephen W. Worrall); Luke J. Peffer; Julia E. Peffer.

He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Russel Stanley Peffer, Jr.

A memorial service for Cookie and Big John will be held on August 23, 2025, from 1 pm to 2 pm at their home. All attendees are invited to stay for food and beverages to follow immediately the celebration of their lives. No formal dress is required.
