John Joseph Myszkowski

John Joseph Myszkowski, 70, was called home unexpectedly on Monday, February 12, 2024 at Reading Hospital. He was the loving husband of Janice (Dewald) Myszkowski, with whom he shared 50 years.

John was born in Reading, one of three sons of the late Joseph and Stella (Jaznach) Myszkowski. His adventures with his brothers, Bill and Robert, began in childhood and continued throughout his life. At 10 years old, he sat in a dragster with his brother Billy and his love of drag racing began. He owned and raced his 40 Willys, Mind Games, from the time he was 20 years old. He also enjoyed racing little cars with his brother-in-law and nephews.

He worked as a machinist for Hoffman Industries for 38 years, and for Reading Electric more recently. He dreamed about owning a bait and tackle shop and so, twelve years ago, he opened Wyomissing Creek Outfitters - a beautiful shop with many great customers. John loved the great outdoors and dreamed about the Biggest Buck and the Biggest Fish. John and Robert own the Laurel Run Hunting Camp in Sullivan County, PA, and John is an honorary member of Cedar Dale Fish Association. He lived for hunting trips with his brothers, and fishing and camping with his wife, always with his golden retriever at his side.

John continued to Love and Dream as God called him Home.

John is survived by his wife, Janice; brothers, Bill Myszkowski, husband of Sandy, of Spring Township, and Robert Myszkowski, partner of Joyce Allen, of Temple; mother-in-law, Betty Dewald; aunt, Helen Steffy, and cousin, Sue Tylka; sisters-in-law Debbie Hiester (Tom) and Cynde Frankhouser (Bill); nieces: Heather Harner, Jessica Kochel (Matt), and Nicole Wedge (Chris); nephews: Sheldon and Shane Hiester, and Ryan Frankhouser; and great nephews: Peyton and Carter Kochel, and Liam Wedge.
