John J. "Johnny Bumps" Medaglia, Jr., 77, of Robeson Township, died October 24, 2012, in Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

He was the husband of Barbara A. (Michalski) Medaglia. They celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on October 7.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late John, Sr. and Josephine (Panetta) Medaglia.

He was a 1953 graduate of Reading High School.

John was owner and operator of Medaglia's Auto Upholstery; he was also a salesman for Marshall Chevrolet, Bob Fisher Chevrolet and Suburban Dodge.

He had a lifelong interest in classic cars.

John was one of the founders of fuel injectors Hot Rod Club in the 1950's.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Joseph J. Medaglia, John J., husband of Maria Medaglia, both of Birdsboro and Deborah Assad, Pittsburg. There are two siblings, Larry, husband of Dawn Medaglia, Wyomissing and Rosemary Edwards, Fairlawn, NJ. Eight grandchildren, Michaela, Kelsey, Hilary, Delaney, Malory, Devon, Brittin and Stefan; and one great-grandson Colton also survive him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, 2020 Chestnut Hill Road. Mohnton, PA 19540. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, PA 19611. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
