John Gregory Mcgrath

John Gregory McGrath, 67, of Maidencreek Township, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025, in the care of Reading Hospital. Greg was the widower of Mary L. (Sanner) McGrath, who passed away on December 26, 2008.

Born in Butler to the late Jerry McGrath and Ruth (Gray), who later married Paul Wharton, Greg graduated from Butler Area Senior High School, Class of 1976. He went on to graduate from Grove City College in 1981 and completed his Masters of Business Administration in Organizational Behavior at Gannon University in 1986.

In Greg's opinion, nothing beats a cold Yuengling at the end of a long day. He also enjoyed golfing in his free time.

Greg's memory will be treasured by his son, Jonathan R. Gumpper, of Blandon. Greg is also survived by his siblings, Kathleen (McGrath) Rutkoski, Sandra (McGrath) Rishor, Paul McGrath, Denise (McGrath) Stevenson, and Scott McGrath.

A funeral service for Greg will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 12:00 Noon at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading PA 19611, with committal to follow at Berks County Memorial Gardens, Blandon.
