John P. Mazurkiewicz

John P. Mazurkiewicz, 80, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018, in Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Dona L. (Braun) Mazurkiewicz to whom he was married to for 60 years.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Samuel and Julia (Majka) Mazurkiewicz.

John was a 1954 graduate of Central Catholic High School.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving as an O.R. Tech from 1954 through 1960.

John was employed as a manager at Reading Post Office from 1963 through 1992 until his retirement.

He was a loving husband, father and great grandfather.

In addition to his wife Dona, he is survived by a son: Mark A. Mazurkiewicz, Jacksonville, FL; and two daughters: Cindy L., wife of Bret Fake, Exeter; and Debra L., wife of Gus Tellis, Pottstown. Six grandchildren: Justyn, husband of Lynn Fake, and Trevor Fake, fiance' of Lindsay Friedrich, Katie, John, Anna, and Karli; and two great grandchildren; Lilly and Leah also survive him.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at 1 p.m., at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Entombment will follow in Laureldale Cemetery Mausoleum. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services from 12 noon to 1 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Heart Association, P.O.
