John Joseph Liptock, Jr., 50, died September 17, 2011 in his Lower Heidelberg Township residence surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was the husband of Justine A. (Shuman) Liptock whom he married May 14, 1988.
Born November 21, 1960 in West Reading, he was a son of John J., Sr. and Shirley (Stahl) Liptock of Shillington.
John was a 1978 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School and a 1982 graduate of Penn State University.
He was a partner at Herbein & Company, Inc.
A very active man, John was past treasurer of both Opportunity House and church council at St. John's Lutheran Church, where he also organized the church basketball league.
John was a member of P.I.C.P.A. and Leadership Berks.
He was a passionate fisherman.
In addition to his wife and parents, John is survived by two sons, Joseph A. Liptock of Winter Park, FL and David M. Liptock, at home.
Other survivors include a brother, Steven, husband of Lisa Liptock of Shillington and two sisters, Kathleen Noble of Douglasville and Elizabeth Bradley of Tennessee.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. John's Lutheran Church, 4125 Penn Avenue, Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Viewings will be held Tuesday evening from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading and Wednesday from 8:30-10:00 a.m. in the church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
