John “Jack” Schultz, Sr., 91, passed away on May 8, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Edna “Dolly” (Stamm) Schultz. They shared 53 years of marriage before her passing in 2011.
Born in Pottsville, he was the son of the late Frank G. and Florence (Makely). Jack attended Pottsville High School, and proudly served his country in the US Navy. He was part of the SeaBees Construction Battalion, serving in Okinawa and the Philippines.
He built a career as a carpenter, and served his community for nearly 50 years before retiring in 1999. Jack was a member of Remington Club and Rippling Waters Association since 1970, as well as a member and former President of Lenhartsville Fish and Game Association, and a gold card life member of Hamburg Game Association. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing, canoeing, and spending time at the family cabin in the Poconos.
He was a former member of St. Mary’s RCC in Hamburg and a current member of St. Francis de Sales in Robesonia.
Jack’s memory will be cherished by his children: Teresa Mohler (Barry), Sharon Brown, Jackie Schultz-Shirey (Bill), John Schultz, Jr. (Rose Weidman), and Josie Grim (Josh); his grandchildren: Rebecca, Christine, Matthew, Michael, Alyssa, and John III; 11 great grandchildren; as well as his brother, Thomas Schultz. In addition to Dolly, he was predeceased by his daughter, Christine Schultz; his brother Gerald Schultz, Sr; as well as his sister Rose Stamm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s RCC, 94 Walnut Rd, Hamburg, PA 19526, with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather from 9 a.m. until the beginning of Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be in Jack’s honor to St. Mary’s RCC at the address above.
