John B. Imhoff

John Berthold Imhoff, 97, formerly of Mount Laurel Road, Temple, died February 9, 2013 in Berks Heim, Bern Township.

He was the husband of Dorothy Marie (Sload) Imhoff, who died June 22, 2008.

Born August 1, 1915 in Birdsboro, he was a son of the late Alex Berthold Imhoff and Cora Agnes (Wilson) Imhoff.

John was employed as a carpenter with Alex B. Imhoff, Inc., Muhlenberg Township from 1930-1960 and Morey Brothers Construction, Shillington from 1960-1975. Subsequently, he was employed in the maintenance department with Tray-Pak, Muhlenberg Township for 10 years, last working in 1985.

He loved hunting at his camp, "Dunkeltahl Camp", Potter County where he was a member since 1951.

John served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Surviving are his two children: John O., husband of Marilyn Marie (Ludwig) Imhoff of Temple and Virginia Marie (Imhoff), wife of Emlyn R. Jones of Kutztown.

Other survivors include seven grandchildren: Margie L. (Pyle), wife of David Wanshop, David S., husband of Lana (Yue) Pyle, Amy L. (Pyle), wife of Kevin Hess, Susan M. (Pyle), wife of David Hettrick, Jonathan R., husband of Michelle (Dallas) Imhoff, Michelle R. (Clark), wife of John Reimert and Michael J. Clark and companion Sherri L. Lerch.

In addition there are 16 great grandchildren: Eric M. Wanshop, Geoffry A. Wanshop, Max R. Hettrick, Mickey D. Hettrick, Courtney A. Folk, Daniel M. Hess, Brooke E. Folk, Stephanie G. Pyle, Thomas J. Hess, Joseph D. Pyle, Grace E. Hess, Gavin Z. Reimert, Kelsey A. Imhoff, Emily R. Imhoff, Taylor L. Clark and Darin R. Reimert.

There are also six great-great grandchildren: Victoria A. Wagner, Kali E. Masciangelo, Jake A. Masciangelo, Jack L. Wanshop, Owen P. Wanshop and Tobia Hayes Crayton.

John is also survived by three brothers, William, George and John.

Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in Calvary Baptist Church, 510 Park Ave., Reading, PA 19611. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
