John D. Hertzog

John D. Hertzog, 92, of Wyomissing, passed away, Sunday March 19, 2017, in Berks Heim.

He was predeceased by his wife, Marie R. (Reich) Hertzog, to whom he had been married for 50 years.

Born in Wyomissing, he was the son of the late J. Stanley and Mary (Shannon) Hertzog.

John was a U.S. Marine veteran of WWII. He was extremely proud to be a Marine and especially enjoyed working in the London Embassy during his service years.

He worked as a lift truck operator at CarTech for 25 years, retiring in 1992.

John and his wife had a special bond of riding motorcycles together.

He is survived by two sons: John D. Hertzog, Elizabethtown; and Stephen D., husband of Jane Hertzog, Robesonia.

John was predeceased by his three siblings: Jean Potts, Henry Hertzog, and Robert Hertzog.

John's family would like to thank friends and staff of Rittenhouse Village at Muhlenberg, and the doctors and nurses at Berks Heim, Building A-2.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
