John Martin Henry

Dr. John M. Henry, 59, of Wyomissing, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Reading Hospital. He was the loving husband of Jill E. (Loebrich) Henry. Raised in Doylestown, John was a son of the late William and Marion (Abrams) Henry.

Dr. Henry completed his undergraduate studies at Franklin and Marshall College where he was honored as being a Dana scholar, Herman scholar, and elected to the Phi Beta Kappa society. He received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD. While at Johns Hopkins, he performed research on the biology and treatment of prostate and bladder cancer.

At the University of Pennsylvania, he served as an intern and resident in general surgery. He completed his urologic studies at the University of Pennsylvania and performed his pediatric training at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Dr. Henry served as the Chief of Urology at Reading Hospital and was a founding member and practicing partner at the Center for Urological Care of Berks County.

John had an enthusiasm for life and a desire to fulfill the happiness of others. He touched countless lives through his gifts to the field of medicine. When not actively treating patients, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling, but most importantly spending time with his family, friends, and dogs.

John's memory will be treasured by his wife, Jill; his children, Madison R., John G., and Regina F. Henry; his step daughter, Riley P. Horner; his sister, Patricia Bodenstab; his brother, William Henry; his aunt, Angie Greene; and his nieces and nephews.
