John "Jackie" D. Hamilton, 80, of Shoemakersville, died February 14, 2015 in his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born in National Park, NJ, he was the son of the late William and Evelyn (Banning) Hamilton.
He was a self-employed auto mechanic. His love for cars went beyond his workplace as he loved to race modified race cars at the Reading Fairgrounds and won a championship in Flemington, NJ. John was also an extreme animal lover.
John is survived by his wife Maureen C. (Duddy) Hamilton; a daughter, Christa Manbeck, Hamburg; and a sister, Theresa M. Glover. Also surviving are two grandchildren Derrek and Zoe Manbeck and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers William Hamilton and Samuel Hamilton; and a sister Evelyn "Babe" Parks.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, PA 19611 is in charge of arrangements.
