John Basil Gray

John Basil "Jack" Gray III, 84, formerly of 222 Evans Avenue, Wyomissing, died June 21st at 8:15am in the Skilled Care Unit at the Highlands of Wyomissing where he had been since March 5, 2002.

He was the husband of Helen (McSweeney) Gray, a resident of the Highlands at Wyomissing.

Born in Prince Frederick, Maryland, he was a son of the late John B. Jr., and Aimee (Truan) Gray.

He was a 1937 graduate of Calvert High School, Prince Frederick, Maryland and a 1941 graduate of Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland.

Gray was a Army Veteran of WWII.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.

Gray worked for 30 years as a Electrical Engineer for Western Electric before retiring in 1980.

He is also survived by a daughter, Ann G. (Gray) Jakabcin of Falls Church, Virginia and a son, Robert L. Gray of Huntingtown, Maryland.

Other survivors include a brother, Frank T. Gray of Baltimore, Maryland and two sisters; Sue (Gray) Gorton and Sara (Gray) Barroll both of Bloomfield, Conn.

There are four grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, James A. Gray (Died May 1958).

Funeral services Friday 9:30 am in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Viewing Friday 8:30 - 9:30 am in the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading. Rev. Joseph DeSantis celebrating.
