John R. Geisler

John R. Geisler, 68, of Reading, passed away October 8, 2014 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

He was the husband of Gloria A. (Adams) Geisler, whom he married 27 years ago on October 10, 1987.

Born August 13, 1946 in Audubon, NJ he was a son of the late Hans Robert and Madeline (Devers) Geisler.

John was a graduate of Fullerton High School, CA.

He was a network analyst, last working for Meridian Bank.

John was a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in Vietnam. He was a Khe Sanh survivor and participated in Operation Buffalo. He was a member and past commander of the local Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and a member of the Marine Corps League.

He was also a member of the Mohnton Fish And Game Protective Association, and the past treasurer of the Reading Ham Radio Club.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his two children: John R. Geisler, Jr., Ontario, Canada; and Samantha J., wife of Jaime Kostic, Reading. Also surviving are his three grandchildren: Nathan, Payton, and Lukas Kostic.

Services will be Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to 1st Battalion 9th Marines, 66 Clinton St., Meriden, CT 06450.
