John M. Fosnocht

John Michael Fosnocht peacefully entered into eternal life on April 4, 2024, at 91 years of age. Called Dr. Fosnocht, John, Jack, Popa, Uncle Jack, Dad (or Pop), depending on whether he was your dentist, spouse, brother, friend, grandfather, uncle, or father, he was always ready with a twinkle in his blue eyes to tell a funny joke or to "magically" pull a coin out of the ear of a nearby child. He was a dentist in the Devon Manor neighborhood of Harrisburg, PA for over 30 years, and after retiring he continued practicing dentistry part-time at numerous dental offices in Dauphin, Berks, and Lancaster counties for another 25 years.

Jack was born on Valentine's Day, 1933, in Shillington, PA, the son of Merrill Grant Fosnocht and Florence "Babe" (Monahan) Fosnocht, and was a graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School, Franklin and Marshall College, and the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry. He was predeceased by his wife Roberta "Bobbie" (Jaroszenski) Fosnocht and their daughter Pamela Ann, his parents, his sister Mary Jane Hallock, his sister Margaret "Meg" Beam, his brother-in-law William "Bill" Beam, and his baby brother James.

Jack leaves behind his children David (Muriel Hasbun), Kevin (Sharon Popik), Brian (fiancée Valeria Natal Dos Santos) and Melissa (William Zader), his grandchildren Rachel, Daniel, Lauren, Abigail, Pamela, Zachary, Benjamin, and Julia, his sister Elizabeth "Beth" Dougherty (Tom Dougherty), his dearest friend and companion Gertrude "Mickey" Melniczek, and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church in Shillington, PA. Burial at Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale, will be private at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
