John Michael Forlini lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on December 28th at the age of seventy-five. Born in Reading, he completed his entire education from kindergarten through graduation from Albright College on 13th street a few blocks from where he grew up on North 16th street. John served in the naval reserves with his active duty in Naples, Italy where he and his wife Christine lived for two years. They spent his off duty time traveling and exploring many countries and local sites. At the end of his active duty, they returned to Reading with their first three of many rescue dogs and cats. John taught history and worked for Aetna Insurance as an underwriter and eventually made his career with the US Postal Service, retiring as post master of Birdsboro in 2009. John's passion was music, and he enjoyed playing guitar with several bands for over 50 years. He also loved the beach, spending time with family and friends at the Jersey Shore throughout the years. He coached both of his daughters in softball and enjoyed watching his grandson's baseball games. He played baseball and softball for much of his life. John is survived by his wife Christine (Smith) with whom he celebrated fifty-three years of marriage this past June, his daughters Ashley Peterson (Jon), of Palm Beach Gardens Florida, Jordan Forlini of Reading, three grandsons Greyson, Avery and Harrison Peterson (who affectionately call him Leroy), his mother Elizabeth Forlini (Breen), his siblings Peter Forlini (Cindy), Patricia Barrell (Glenn), Debra Hart (Russell), and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, John J. Forlini. Service and burial are private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in John's memory to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 58 Kennel Road Birdsboro, Pa 19508. Edward J.
