John Daniel Fasig

John Daniel Fasig, 79, of Temple, died July 7, 2010 in Wyomissing Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was the husband of Shirley M. (Frankhouser) Fasig who died September 30, 1997.

Born February 27, 1931 in Reading, he was a son of the late Daniel and Laura (Knittinger) Rothenberger.

John served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Surviving are eight siblings: Betty Beeman of Hartwood, VA; Doris Wesner of Temple; Mary Messersmith of PA; Barbara Showers of Reading, Dorothy Dease of VA, Kathleen Oswald of VA, Stanley Fasig of Reading and Francis Rothenberger of Laureldale.

Other survivors include many nieces and nephews.

John was predeceased by a son, Allen Fasig; a brother, William Fasig and two sisters, Eva Schaffer and Florence Hieash.

Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
